Smoking is a personal choice which many people do for different reasons, the buzz, the taste, to releive stress, boredom, to lose weight, maybe even to look "cool" among other things. Many people smoke and once you start it can be a hard habit to break, you might say that addiction is part of what holds this community together. It is a community in that many people do it and usually together, since there are so many restrictions on where you can smoke people end up gathering in permitted places. Through smoking it also seems as if others who smoke find it easier to seek out people who are already smoking rather than people who are not as not to offend them creating more of a community situation.
The main common interest that smokers share is smoking, though you will find others for example social smokers, people who like to smoke so they can be social with others who smoke. The need to smoke can be for different reasons, like people who need to relieve stress and feel that smoking provides that, or people who feel the need to fit in somewhere and feel that smoking or people who started smoking because they felt a need to experiment or even rebell against soicety in some way that is legal. people who smoke generally value their freedom, but not the health of their lungs, though if you look at it from a different perspective thay do value their lungs because if they did not work properly they would have a hard time smoking.
I fit into the smoking community because I love to smoke, it's fun, I like the taste and the smell, it gives me something to do, releives stress and helps me focus. This is a community that I enjoy being a part of because suprisingly enough I have met a lot of interesting and different new people through this who share some of my same views on politics among other things and at the same time have many different views from my own which fascinate me.

More than just a stack of credit cards amongst crumpled receipts

My wallet is stuffed full of many things that I'm not even sure what's in it. In a way it does create an image of my identity. It carries things of both materialistic importance and things that I actually have a great attatchment too.
While to others it may look like I am incredibly unorganized (which I'm not, it's just my purse and my wallet are a bit out of order) and I keep things that really should just be thrown out. Some of these things actually have some meaning, ticket stub's from my first date with my boyfriend who I love very much, a fortune from Chinese with my family which has seemed to have some relevance to it and many many receipts simply because I save all my receipts.
My wallet is full of cards, old school ID's all the way from middle school, credit cards, punch cards, business cards, savings cards and I'm sure other kinds of cards. From looking at my cards you can definantly tell I like to shop, maybe a little to much, you would also know just from the cards that I love Staples (as in the store). From both the amount of esspresso stand cards and receipt's I have for coffee, anyone could easily see that I drink a lot of coffee.
Also in my wallet I have notes. Some of these notes are written by me because I love to write and when something comes to mind I just have to get it down anywhere. The other notes are to me, that mean a lot to me which have been there for a long time, a few are from children I used to sit for, I love kids and the notes they have written me (or drawn me in some cases) mean a so much to me. I also have notes from friends and my boyfriend which remind me of how much they mean to me. Just as important as the notes are the photos I keep in my wallet of close family and friends, my relationships with the people I love is what I value the most and you can definently tell by the pictures I keep. I never really realized how much my wallet says about me.
